Bungy Jumping in New Zealand

This has got to be the maddest thing anybody could do BUT New Zealand is full of mad people who think it's a good idea.  Each to their own I suppose, but before YOU make a judgement why not give it a try.

If you're going to go Bungy (or is it bungee) jumping at all, then there's no better starting place than the Kawarau Bridge, near Queenstown on the South Island.  This is the very bridge that the first commercial Bungy jump was set up.  There are many bungy jump opoerators throughout New Zealand and you can choose between bridges, stadiums, buildings, even dropping 134 metres from a cable car suspended over a canyon.

Bungy and similar breath taking experiences can be found at Queenstown (obviously), Rotorua, Auckland, Taupo, Manawatu-Wanganui region and many other places.

I would say, although I've never done it, that nobody between the ages of two and eighty should even think about going Bungy jumping.  However, many people do and they seem to enjoy it.

GOOD LUCK!!

By the way, the emergency services number in New Zealand is 111.   Note: You shouldn't need this, the operators always have ambulances on stand-by.  (only joking)
