Northern Territory |
|
Geography:
The vast majority of the
land area of NT is taken up with outback, so a large percentage of the
population is centred on the state capital, Darwin. The Northern
Territory is perhaps most famous for the spectacular Uluru (Ayres Rock)
and
Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). These are natural sandstone rock formations
jutting out from the surrounding bush and have immense scared meaning
amongst the Aboriginal people. The Uluru national park has many natural
springs, waterholes, and rock caves containing aboriginal paintings. |

Darwin National Park, Knuckey Lagoons Conservation Reserve, Leanyer
Recreation Park, the Nightcliff Foreshore, Bicentennial Park and the
