Victoria

Geography:  Victoria is cut into two parts by the Great Dividing Range of mountains and lesser hills. The streams to the north of it flow down to the Murray river, which is the northern border of the state, and those to the south flow to the sea.  The eastern part of the range is known as the Australian Alps and the western part is the Pyrenees. Snow covers the higher peaks for much of the year.

Gippsland is a large rural region in the state of Victoria.  It begins immediately east of the suburbs of the state capital Melbourne and stretches to the New South Wales border, lying between the Great Dividing Range to the north and Bass Strait to the south.  The area is unique within Australia and is diversely blessed with snow fields, wilderness, rain forests, farm land  and beaches.
